Our Team

Andrew Stroud

Director of New Creation Communities. Over the past twenty years Andrew has helped start and lead new communities of believers across the United States and has trained leaders for the kingdom who are operating as missionaries around the world.

As part of his work with NCC he also helps lead a network of disciple-making communities throughout the greater San Diego area. He and his wife Cindy have been married for twenty years and have four children.

Luke Calvert

A Captain in the U.S. Army's aviation branch, Luke currently serves as Executive Officer for the University of Texas at San Antonio's ROTC Program where he mentors and trains young cadets who will be future Army officers. He served in ministry with the Strouds and became a good friend of the family while stationed at Fort Lewis, WA and has since maintained the relationship while continuing to travel around the country.

Luke is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and hails originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma where his family resides.

Mike Chong

Mike enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1997 at the age of 17. He has served on two deployments to Iraq. In 2006 he left active duty and enrolled at Austin Peay State University, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. In 2012 he completed Officer Candidate School and received his commission as an Officer. He continues to serve in the Army Reserves. 

Since 2011, Mike has been working full-time as a missionary with The Navigators, a Christian ministry serving Soldiers and their families at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM).

Peter Fischer

Peter is an attorney at a large law firm in Washington, D.C. where he represents companies around the United States.

He has been committed to following Christ since he attended law school at Emory University.  He was introduced to God's plan for building communities of generational disciple makers during his time serving as a JAG Officer with U.S. Army Special Operations.

He lives with his wife, Lauren, and their sons, George and James, in Arlington, Virginia.

John Snyder

John met Andrew and Cindy Stroud in 2000 while stationed at Fort Campbell, KY with the U.S. Army. While on active duty he was discipled by Andrew. In 2001, he left active duty to be trained by the Strouds at Fort Bragg, NC where he met his wife Jessica, who was discipled by Cindy. He has served as a missionary with The Navigators at Fort Bragg since 2005, and currently serves as Deputy Director of Army Ministries.

John has a heart to see the world filled with disciples of Jesus Christ and is excited to be part of New Creation Communities.

Dave Yumen

Dave serves as local director for The Navigators Mission to the military in San Diego. He and his wife, Janet, have served with The Navigators in Oak Harbor, WA; Alameda, CA; and for the past 20 years in San Diego. They have two adult children, Chris and Kristi. Both Dave and Janet were raised in traditional Buddhist backgrounds and both became believers during their freshmen year of college and were discipled by The Navigators.

In 2005, Dave retired as a Captain from the U.S. Navy, having served in both the active and reserve Navy for 30 years.
